When my wedding venue closed down two months before my wedding in 2010, I was devastated. Everything was already arranged and deposits were paid, so I had to start with all the arrangements from scratch again and on a tight budget. Because my invitations were already sent out to our guests I was set on still having my wedding on the planned date, 8 May 2010.
This is where Annelie from Designers Wedding & Birthday Cakes came in. I found her details on a website and in April, a month before my wedding, I arranged to meet with her. She was extremely friendly and professional, gave us excellent suggestions and a great variety of cakes and fillings to choose from… This all at a very reasonable price. The cake we requested was something a bit out of the ordinary and would take more time and effort than an ordinary Wedding Cake. Annelie accepted the challenge without thinking twice and even offered to get all the extra decorations for the cake herself so that I can focus on the rest of my wedding arrangements.
On my wedding day Annelie took care of absolutely everything. My cake was at the venue on time, set up perfectly and I could enjoy my wedding without having to worry about the cake at all. Now that was service!
The wedding cake Annelie created for us was divine; it tasted every bit as good as it looked and our guests loved it.
Annelie, thank you very much for the big role you played in making our wedding day exactly what we hoped it would be. I will definitely refer any of my friends or family to you with their confectionary needs.

A huge thank you to you for your excellent service and most impressive wedding cake.
The cakes were displayed beautifully and you captured our colours perfectly. Our guests too were so impressed and I spotted a few of them walking away with more than there share but thankfully my brother in law secured a few cakes for the house and for me to even bring to work to share with my colleagues. Iv attached a picture of the treats I shared with the colleagues this morning.
You were friendly, supportive and so patient during the entire wedding process. I had so much faith in you and not a worry regarding the cake itself or your service. Thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart. The cake too held up for so many hours despite the warm venue- in fact if looked so radiant that guests specifically came to take some photos of the cake.
